BANDAVGARH, INDIA

Bandhavgarh National Park in central India derives its name from the most prominent hillock of the area, which was said to be given by Hindu Lord Rama to his brother, Lakshmana, to keep watch on Lanka (Ceylon) – hence the name Bandhavgarh (Brother’s Fort).

Bandhavgarh has one of the highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers known in the world.
